About Harold Dodge Fund-A-S.T.A.R.

Originally begun as S.T.A.R., for Students and Teachers Achieving Results, this web-based program provides an opportunity for the community to show tangible support for the success of every student. Fund-A-S.T.A.R. makes a direct connection between individuals in the community and specific needs in the classroom.

School Teachers

We invite teachers from Chickasaw City Schools and Mobile County Public School System to submit a proposal online for ideas and needs of your students’ that are aligned to your school district’s goals. Fund request must not exceed $400.00 (as of 11/2015). For funding consideration, complete and submit the Grant Application below.

Grants are reviewed in August, December and March.

Community Support

We encourage individual and business donors to browse and select a proposal you want to fully or partially fund.

To ensure the accountability of the program, MAEF works closely with School Districts to review all proposals. MAEF also provides fiscal responsibility that allows individuals and corporations to give private funds with confidence. Donors receive thank-you notes from students in the classroom they support, along with a receipt for their tax-deductible contribution.

To date, more than $146,000 has been awarded to teachers in Mobile County Public Schools through the Fund-A-S.T.A.R program.

For more information on how you can participate in Fund-A-S.T.A.R., please contact Eva Holloway or Janice Rivers.
